Smoke Alarm Program

The City of Olive Branch, Olive Branch Fire Department, and the State Fire Marshall's Office is pleased to offer free smoke alarms and smoke alarm installation to residents of the City of Olive Branch who are financially unable to purchase a smoke alarm.  Once the application is received, a representative form the Olive Branch Fire Department will reach out to you to schedule a time for installation.

You qualify for a free smoke alarm if you meet the following conditions:

  • You reside in the City of Olive Branch and own the property in which you reside; and
  • You do not already have a working smoke alarm and are not financially able to purchase a smoke alarm.

Regardless of these conditions, you may qualify if:

  • At least one child under the age of 14 resides with you; or
  • You are 65 years of age or older.

Your free smoke alarm(s) will be installed by appointment when an adult is present. Olive Branch Fire Department Firefighters will be in uniform and will arrive at your home in a fire department vehicle.

To request smoke alarm(s), please complete the form below accurately and completely.

Smoke Alarm Form

  1. Release and Hold Harmless Agreement

By submitting this form, you give permission to the Olive Branch Fire Department to place a battery-operated smoke alarm(s) in your home.  This device (and replacement batteries when available) is furnished from a Smoke Alarm Fund with contributions from the Mississippi State Fire Marshals Office. You understand that the City of Olive Branch does not warrant the manufacture's guarantee/ Should the alarm fail to operate in the event of a fire, the City of Olive Branch shall not be liable for any claims associated with that fire and/or the failure of the device. You also understand that neither the City of Olive Branch nor its Fire Department are not responsible for maintaining the device and replacing the battery each year at the same time (or when the device "chirps" indicating that the battery is worn-out). Please request that a new battery be installed if you are unable to do it yourself.  If batteries are available from the Mississippi State Fire Marshals Office, we will install replacements each year when requested. I have read and agreed to the above terms.
