National Parks & Recreation Month
July is recognized as National Parks and Recreation Month . The City of Olive Branch has five parks with many park amenities to offer the community. Park hours are from 6 am to 11 pm seven days per week.
City Park : The Olive Branch City Park, located at 8267 Goodman Road, is 138 acres in size with several amenities. Entrances to the park are located at 8267 Goodman Road, about a quarter-mile east of the intersection of the Goodman Bypass at Goodman Road. The second entrance is at the intersection of College Street at Highway 305 next to the Piggly Wiggly.
George M. Harrison Soccer Complex: George M. Harrison Municipal Park is located at 8700 Church Road at the intersection of Highway 305. Amenities include 5 lighted international sized soccer fields, a 2 mile walking trail, a small pavilion, and a lake where the annual Children's Fishing Rodeo is held.
Ivy Trails Community Park: Located at 7496 Acree Lane, Ivy Trails is 10 acres in size and offers a ½ mile-long walking trail, a small pavilion, and a playground.
Magnolia Community Park: Located at 10111 Oak Leaf in the Magnolia Estates Subdivision at the intersection of Oak Leaf and Alexander, this 19-acre park offers a ½-mile paved multi-purpose trail, playground, picnic tables, and a large open area for various activities. It has the distinction of being the first recognized urban forest in the state of Mississippi.
Southridge Community Park: Located at 9730 Eva Drive, this park is 19-acres and borders Lick Creek. Amenities include a playground with rubberized safety surfacing, a 1/2 mile walking trail, picnic tables, benches, a baseball practice area with a backstop, and a 2-acre lake.
