What to do if you experience a water leak

Coming out of a deep freeze, you might experience a water leak or burst water pipe in your home. 💧
Here's how to take action:
In the event of a water leak or burst water pipe in your home, you can access the main water shutoff which is typically located in your front yard near the street. If you do not have a residential water key you can use household tools such as an adjustable wrench or pliers to shut the water off to your home to minimize damage. Locate the valve on the street side of the meter. Turn clockwise until it is not inline with the meter or you meet resistance.
