Olive Branch Fire Department

The City of Olive Branch Fire Department proudly protects 32,000 people living in an area of 40 square miles. We are located in Northeast Desoto County, South of the City of Memphis, Tennessee. We operate out of 4 stations that protect residential and commercial areas as well as one of states largest industrial parks. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status.

We have an ISO rating of 6.

The Olive Branch Fire Department was established in 1955. The Department protects one of the largest municipalities in Desoto County, Mississippi, with a daytime population exceeding 30,000.

The Olive Branch Fire Department team consists of 68 firefighters, 12 paramedics and 7 staff members providing Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services (Advanced Life Support), Hazardous Materials, Confined Space Rescue, High Angle Rope Rescue and Fire Prevention. The department is led by Fire Chief Johnny Eason and Assistant Chief Scott Phillips.

Each Firefighter is Mississippi State Certified to the Minimum Standards of National Fire Protection Association Standard 1001-I-II. Each Station has one Lieutenant and a minimum of two firefighters assigned to each engine. The firefighters are scheduled for work on three shifts. Each shift has one Battalion Chief, five lieutenants, ten firefighters and five drivers which protect the City of Olive Branch each day.

Each Battalion Captain and Lieutenant are Certified Hazardous Materials Technicians, Certified in High Angle Rope Rescue, Certified in Confined Space Rescue. We also have a Battalion Captain and Lieutenant Certified in the Chemistry of Hazardous Materials.

The Olive Branch Fire Deparment also provides Emergency Medical Services to the citizens of Olive Branch. We have three Firefighter-Paramedics that are assigned to each shift which complements our Ambulance Service.
